What is Collective Switching?

Collective switching is when a large group of people get together and use their collective buying power to negotiate a better deal from energy suppliers. The more people who are involved in a switch, the bigger the buying power and the better the deal is likely to be.

Lots of people are paying too much for their energy and rising fuel bills can be a real concern. The aim of the Merseyside Collective Switch is to reduce our energy bills by joining together.

Some people have been reluctant to switch suppliers because they’re not sure how to, or they don’t have time to compare the different tariffs. Collective switching makes it safe and easy to switch and ensures that we all get a better deal.

The benefits of collective switching

  • Save money

You’ll be told exactly how much you could save before you agree to switch your tariff. The Merseyside Collective Switch has saved local people over £1.5 million so far. Our last Autumn Switch saw average savings of £260 per year.

  • Save time

It only takes a few minutes to register to join the switch. Once you’ve registered, we’ll do all the hard work for you.

Our switching partner energyhelpline will work with the energy suppliers to get a good deal. We’ll then contact you to let you know what the best offers are. If you do decide to switch, our switching partner, energyhelpline, will make sure the whole process goes smoothly.

  • Safe and easy

You’ll know exactly what the new offer is and who the new supplier will be before you agree to accept the offer. You’re not under any obligation to agree to the switch unless you’re happy to do so. Whatever you decide, there will be no disruption to your gas and electricity supply.

Energy Projects Plus’ impartial advisors will be on hand to offer advice if you need it on freephone 0800 043 0151.

  • We’re all in it together

It’s true what they say about safety in numbers. By joining together we can collectively get a better deal on our energy bills.
